Rare Monica887 Posted August 14, 2023 #1 Share Posted August 14, 2023 I would love to get to Denali but it seems that only the longer (over a week) trips go there? Is there a cruise line that gets there in 7 days?
Northern Aurora Posted August 14, 2023 #2 Share Posted August 14, 2023 Denali is located in the Interior of Alaska. It is south of the Brooks Range and is located in the Alaska Range. A visit to Denali means you will be doing so on a land trip, either a DIY trip or cruise line organized land tour.
oaktreerb Posted August 14, 2023 #3 Share Posted August 14, 2023 The Denali trips are add ons to a cruise. You can just do a land tour by flying to Anchorage or Fairbanks and take the train to Denali. Look online at TravelAlaska which will give you options. Alaska is huge and the major cruise lines sail Southeast Alaska ports. I think the shortest cruise tour by Holland America is the 9 day Holland America D8 tour which busses you from the ship in Whittier to Denali for one day and on to Fairbanks to fly home. You could say you set foot in Denali National Park but only 30% of visitors even see the mountain. If you spent a few days in the park your chances improve. You also have to be aware that there are 2 types of days. There is the Cruise Company "one day" and the rest of us "one day". You need to look at port and tour "one days". Check the itinerary very to carefully to see what your actual times will be at each place you visit. I suspect that you wlll be very surprised.
