I am interested in how to get from Edinburgh Port to Old Course at St. Andrews. Princess has an excursion but it is stays at the course only  1 hr 15 minutes. I found a private excursion but it is for 7 people and we have 3. Are there taxis at the port??? All we are interested in is transportation to and from. Any suggestions are appreciated.

There are usually taxis at the pier in South Queensferry, but (especially if you want to stay for any time) the cost will quite possibly be much higher than booking a taxi from St Andrews to come and pick you up and return you to South Queensferry at the end of your visit.  You could also mix and match Uber to get to St Andrews and a St Andrews taxi to return (you won't normally get an Uber in St Andrews).

The public transport alternative is by train to Leuchars.  The station is a short (but steep) uphill walk from the pier and a very simple (normally same platform) change of train.  When you arrive in Leuchars, you can catch a local bus or taxi for the 5 miles to St Andrews.  Here's a typical route on Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/AjHuyabrpHhNgvzJ9

Thanks so much for your help. Reserved St. Andrews Taxi and they were very helpful!
