Rare Ovener Posted August 17, 2023 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2023 We’re cruising on Silversea (Dawn) for the first time in the Mediterranean in Spring 2024. We’re normally on Seabourn or Hapag-Lloyd where dining is pretty flexible. As it looks like we need to book dinner reservations in advance on Silversea, I’d be really grateful if anyone could indicate please what time port talks and/or lectures take place? We’d really like to attend these and book dinner times so they don’t clash. Thanks in advance.
CruzinFeraBruzin Posted August 17, 2023 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2023 If you are in port, talks/lectures are typically scheduled for late in the afternoon (4pm - 5pm) to allow those who are on excursions enough time to return back to the ship to attend. They normally do not last for more than an hour. If you are at sea, the lectures will take place either in the morning or afternoon.
dawntrdr Posted August 17, 2023 #3 Share Posted August 17, 2023 Even if you book your evening meal at the first seating (7:00 pm), you will never conflict with a lecture. SS knows to schedule lectures so they end no later than cocktail hour!
Rare Lois R Posted August 17, 2023 #4 Share Posted August 17, 2023 Hi, I have never had a problem without reservations for dinner. I may book 1 or 2 nights ahead of time but I would say all the other nights I go without reserving anything.
Rare Ovener Posted August 18, 2023 Author #5 Share Posted August 18, 2023 Great, thank you, that’s good to know!
Rare Port Power Posted August 18, 2023 #6 Share Posted August 18, 2023 But team trivia is at 4:45pm! As mentioned above, no guest speakers present their talks after mid afternoon. Usually 10am and 11am, and possibly 2pm and 3pm when at sea. Bingo is held at about 4pm.
