Did they not have  afternoon tea with little sandwiches /cakes?

I thought  Barristas  had some offering all day  is this not case on Vista ?

In the interest of research, we will have to go check out what is offered at Barristas between 4PM and 6:30PM ...see you there!

Research really is key in these situations!! I may have put in a bit too much research there on my Vista cruise in May!!

To be fair, I believe the OP was indicating that for those that prefer to eat dinner earlier, there were no options except room service before 6:30PM ....which is true...some people due to medical concerns or preference, need/want to eat their dinner at 5:30 - 6PM.

Good point. But……..does that mean you will be abandoning your research now??😃

Of course not!!!  It is still important to carefully check what sustenance is available during that "black hole" between 5PM (end of tea) and 6:30PM (dining room open) besides room service!  A researchers job is never done....availability of food, cookie debacle and are the amazing almond croissants really available every morning in Barristas?

But  they would know this information prior to booking   just by asking  Oceania  or ask here

I am not buying it   LOL

You have more time to do the research   I will have to  split the  taste testing  with DH LOL

I will give them the benefit of the doubt,  if you have only sailed on larger ships where the buffet is always open or there is somewhere serving meal food, I would not have thought to ask about when a buffet or dining room is open.  Also, so few actual cruisers know or post on CC, that they lack the option of learning the details,  I sailed many years before finding CC and then it was while onboard a ship..  They are making an observation and it will now inform others about this, so if it is important for dining, they are prepared.

Yes, this was my meaning. On a couple of days we had either a late lunch at Waves Grill (ordered before 4 pm) or foraged in Horizon’s for Afternoon Tea (with petite sandwiches and delicious sweets) and or at the Baristas/The Bakery (late in day there were nuts, meats, cheeses, chips, small sandwiches, pastries and mini quiches). Though there was no shortage of food available between 4 to 6:30 pm, these offerings were not as satisfying as restaurant or even Terrace Cafe meals. Because of this we opted primarily for 6:30 dinner meals.

Yes I knew about the dining times before booking. All other things equal (and they never are), if a different cruise line we would be willing to sail with offered earlier dinner dining options, this would be a decision factor for us.

Just got off Vista. There are no food options between 5:30-6:30 except room service. If in concierge class, thru do have bite size sandwiches and cookies in the lounge on 9 forward. We would bring snacks back to the room after lunch.

Tender operation definitely needs improvement.

For all those that enjoy a casino on board, the casino on Vista is very well run. The manager is always around and will but you drinks if you play.

There are $10 and $25 black Jack tables, 3card poker and roulette and craps rables.

The slots seemed very fair. My wife played on the same machine the entire trip and basically broke even.

On sea days there is a black Jack tournament and hold ‘em poker tournament.

You will enjoy the casino and the rest of the ship.

I prefer a cabin near the aft elevators as they are more frequently used for dining venues.

Bon Voyage

Baristas was closed between 5:30 and 6:30??  I thought it was open from early morning to late evening...they have lots of munchies available there to tide someone over until dinner...

I can promise you the guests are not hanging out at night sipping lattes. I’m pretty sure they do close before dinner.

They switch over around 6 pm or so and have some evening coffee bevvies available. There are most definitely people sipping lattes up to closing which I believe is ~10 pm.

I believe they not only offer coffee drinks with and with out alcohol but wine in the evenings...  I know we have partaken in after dinner coffees there many times.

Did you actually go up there and confirm it closed at 6 or just guessing?  Others have posted it is open until 10PM....
