Disembarkation time

My cruise itinerary says it arrives back in Sydney at 06.00. What is the latest I can stay on board for? I don't want to be wandering around Sydney waiting for things to open!!

Usually max is 9:30-ish.  They really want you off not long after 9am.

 When the disembarkation arrangements are sorted out  you generally get an allocated time to disembark.  Once allocated if you do not get the last time take your strips to reception and tell them the allocated time does not suit your travel arrangements and request the last time off.  Then your luggage will arrive quayside at a time to collect it consistent with getting off last.

I probably won't have luggage as I'm planning on doing this trip with only cabin baggage. Will that make a difference? Presumably if I don't have luggage to contend with, I could just wait until the last passengers were scheduled to disembark??

Yes, as a self-disembarkation passenger you can wait until the last call to get off the ship.
