Question About Available Shore Excursions on the App and on the Website

If I am logged into my account, either on the App or on the website, if I booked a shore excursion for that port, I cannot see the other available shore excursions.

I always like to look in case something else opened up that I might like better, especially since I booked my cruise with less than 2 months to sailing.

On Royal, it shows you all the shore excursions for every port, even if you booked one for that port, and lists Sold Out if not available.  On my last 3 Royal cruises, I was able to pick new shore excursions by checking the app every day.

The only way I can see the available shore excursions for NCL is if I go on the website and search a cruise and then select View Cruise and Offers.  This shows the available shore excursions for my cruise.

Anyone know a better way?  Seems ridiculous to me.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Yes, @julig22 just told me how earlier this week.  On main NCL webpage, scroll to bottom, click on ports and find the port you’re interested in.  You will see the excursions and prices.

The system is designed, for shore excursions and all other activities, to show you valid selection options. That prevents you from double booking yourself. If you have a shore ex booked, you're booked. Once onboard, you can use the touch screen kiosks to look at availability on alternate excursions.

This is not Royal Caribbean where you are offered things that you can't have.

Ridiculous - absolutely!!!! And I mention it to NCL anytime I get a chance - it's not rocket science to show everything, even if you have something booked.

They do it so you can't double book - that I understand.  But it would be much better for all involved if they just showed everything and just blocked your ability to purchase if there was a conflict.

The only possible workaround is to go to the port information on the NCL website and see what's offered for that port, relevant or not to your specific cruise.  Then call to see if it's available.

Several years back, I asked an NCL person (via online chat) why I couldn't see other excursions once I booked one for that port, and was told that it was a web glitch and would be fixed soon. 🙄

I absolutely understand the need to prevent people from double-booking, but I also like being able to review what's currently available for my specific cruise in case I change my mind or in case space becomes available on a previously full excursion. Something as straightforward as greying out anything that conflicts with previously-booked excursions would be ideal. Hey, maybe they'll make more money off of me if I end up switching to a more expensive excursion. 😉
