Brisbane hotel postcrusie

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have a recommendation for a hotel for 1 night stay after disembarking in Brisbane? We would like to be able to walk to restaurants and a little sightseeing.  I did a search on the forum and didn't really get any answers other than 1 near the airport.  It doesn't have to be near the airport but not too far either.  Preferably middle-of-the-road pricing.

Thank you so much!

If you want to walk to restaurants and do some sightseeing, I suggest that a hotel near the CBD would be the best for you. If you have a hotel near the airport, it wouldn't be any good for sightseeing and wouldn't be near a selection of restaurants.

Some suggestions -

Riverside Hotel Southbank, 4 star AUD$110

Meriton Suites, Adelaide St, 5 star AUD$130

Ibis, Elizabeth St, 4 star AUD$153

Great Southern Hotel (older but central) AUD$111

Because I live in Brisbane I haven't stayed at any of these hotels. Considering their locations, I like the sound of the Riverside Hotel Southbank. There are restaurants close by and Southbank is lovely as well as a short walk from the CBD across the river.

We stayed at the Royal on the Park in the CBD. It's an older hotel but very comfortable. It's across the road from the Botanical Gardens so easy access to the riverside walkway. There seemed to be plenty of restuarants nearby but we chose to dine in the hotel restaurant which is excellent with a great range of modern Australian/Asian fusion dishes. Check online booking sites as well as the hotel site - we got a much better price through one of them even though it wasn't a last minute booking.

We have also stayed at Royal on the Park and were very happy with it. We had a twin room (TWO queen beds!) and access to a shared terrace overlooking the Gardens. The room was spacious, well maintained and very clean. The buffet breakfast is also very good. It's a reasonably quiet location and an easy walk to the Queen Street Mall. Highly recommend it.
