Which H I Express in Ft. Lauderdale?

Could I get some opinions on which is the nicer hotel? I'm trying to decide between two Holiday Inn Express hotels.... the one at the airport or the one on 17th St. Causeway. I definately like the location of the second one better but read Tripadvisor and the other one is rated better. I'm also wondering if the one by the airport has a free shuttle to the pier on Thursdays. It says it has one for Friday and Saturday which seems strange. Thanks.

Go for the one on 17th Street.

The other is in a less then desirable neighborhood, a cab would be required if you want to shop, eat etc. The HIX on 17th Street offers nearby restaurants, grocery stores, shop's etc all within ez walking distance.
