Upgrading bid on MSC, question about winning bid price?

My question is, when you bid is it the new total price you’re bidding or just an additional add-on price to get the aurea experience? We currently have a deluxe balcony currently booked for an upcoming cruise on MSC in October in what I consider to be a pretty good location. I get an offer to upgrade to an Aurea balcony with a minimum bid price that is about 1/3 of the price that I paid for the deluxe balcony. So I’m confused if they’re just offering me this cheaper price on top of what I’ve already paid for my balcony to get the add-on experience or is that if I were to win the whole price and they would refund the original charge? Thanks hope this makes sense?

You are bidding an extra amount per person, added to what you already paid.  EM

Don't forget, the bidding price is X2. You don't get any extra perks, only what experience comes with it.
