18-20s served wine?

I know that officially under 21s are not served and probably can't order a drink for themselves at a bar or participate the Plus program, but if you've cruised with a young adult, have they been able to have wine or a cocktail with dinner?  My daughters and I have vacationed in Europe the last few times so it's going to be an adjustment to not share a bottle of wine at dinner on our upcoming Panama Canal cruise.  We'll all survive of course either way, but just curious if waiters routinely check key cards of young adults before pouring wine.

These are the age limits on drinking and gambling that are listed on the Princess website "FAQ: Onboard Experience":

The age for gambling on Princess ships is 18 years old. The age for drinking on Princess ships is 21 years old*. Guests under the age of 18 will not be permitted in the Casino or Night Club after 11:00 p.m.

*For cruises between Australia/New Zealand, China, Europe, Singapore and South America ports, the drinking age will be 18 years old. For cruises between Japan ports, the drinking age will be 20 years old.

In my experience with Caribbean cruising when my daughter was 19 or 20, she was served when she was with me and I was putting the drinks on my cruise card. This was before all the packages so it may be different now. They will not charge a drink to a passenger under 21 - it just doesn’t work with their sea pass. (Unlike on European cruises) You may want to bring on a couple bottles and then each carry a full glass with you into dinner. I guarantee they will not bat an eye at that.

Several years ago I took my two daughters and a friend on a cruise.  Two of the girls were just months of turning 21.  The waiter would not service them but did not object when I poured for them.  Trying to order a drink in a lounge is a totally different story, a 100% no.  And as I am one who follows the rules, I did not object.

This is what I was thinking would be the case.  I'm not getting the Plus package because I'll just pay for our wine so I can share.  Thank you!

The medallion does show the name and DOB when it comes up for the crew.  So, they will know already their ages.

Other suggestions that were made sound reasonable and may work.
