close captioning on the tvs (at least on the Prima from our recent experience)

I remember asking about this in this forum before our cruise as my hearing is so much worse than DW's. So, I thought I would share what I learned from our cruise.

First, it is easy to access as there is a button on the remote that is for close captioning.

Second, it works for the on demand movies and for the news channels.

Third, it does not work for things like the Newlywed Game or anything else that went on on the ship. I would not expect it to.

Fourth, it also does not work for things like the port talks. Now this to me is something that they could have made it work for as these are not spontaneous  and should have been done by them in advance. I do not know if it worked for the safety video. That is something that it really would have been good for especially because there was a large deaf group on our cruise that were being signed to at various events.
