Rare drron29 Posted October 18, 2023 Author #126 Share Posted October 18, 2023 Dinner the second night was in Indochine. We were guests of the Shore Concierge Manager so no photographs of the menu. First the wines. We found them quite acceptable. Rojaan had the beef tataki ( I think )then the braised short ribs. She loved the ribs.. I had the Saku tuna then lemongradd beef. Both excellent. We both finished with the Kaffir lime and ginger creme brulee. Wow! Was a great night. Shared with an oilman from Houston who was great company and then joined our trivia team.
Rare drron29 Posted October 18, 2023 Author #127 Share Posted October 18, 2023 Awoke the next morning as we passed Osaka's International Airport KIX. Great views of planes landing and taking off.

Rare drron29 Posted October 18, 2023 Author #129 Share Posted October 18, 2023 It was time for lunch in Atlantide. The wines. I started with some clam chowder. not the greatest. Then we both had the honey BBQ chicken wings that were really good. Whilst eating we came alongside to a nice welcome,

zqtchas Posted October 18, 2023 #131 Share Posted October 18, 2023 So far the menus still look the same as always. Straight out of the Master fleet wide daily menu schedule.
Rare drron29 Posted October 18, 2023 Author #132 Share Posted October 18, 2023 Yes the menus are fleet wide has been confirmed to us by several restaurant managers. Don’t know about the Nova where they seem to be trying a few new things out. A couple of complaints . No gorganzola on the ship and they have run out of marinated mackerel in Kaiseki.
Rare drron29 Posted October 19, 2023 Author #133 Share Posted October 19, 2023 I went on the Kuromon market and Katsuo-ji temple excursion. Picked because of all the excursions that temple was the only place I had not been. As well I like walking around markets and that is where we started. now Japan is a land of vending machines and this one was where we got off the bus. This was next door. looked good. Just a short walk to the market which is mainly seafood. But not only seafood. A few Kobe beef stalls. The dearest beef was $A500 / $US300 a Kg. Huge oysters. And eel.
Rare drron29 Posted October 19, 2023 Author #134 Share Posted October 19, 2023 More non seafood stalls. Fruit is often larger in Japan such as these pears. sweet potato crisps. and large prawns. And sea urchin. I do like this. Plenty of stalls where you can eat. Toss another scallop on the barbie. Or a stick of strawberries. Quick cooking method.
Rare drron29 Posted October 19, 2023 Author #135 Share Posted October 19, 2023 Tatoyaki in production. little crabs. And an outsider place.
Rare drron29 Posted October 19, 2023 Author #136 Share Posted October 19, 2023 And the dearest Kobe beef - 11.8 Kg so nearly $A6000 for this piece. A typical small Japanese eating place. You do wonder sometimes how the Japanese pick the English names. Now back on the bus to the temple. up in the mountains and over an hours ride. Passed a place we ate crab suikiyaki at on our second visit to Osaka. And over the Dotonbori canal. The area is a great place to eat. We were told 2500 restaurants in the square kilometre around here. And some more pictures from the bus. Lots of bamboo around here. With rice paddies or veggies taking up every space between houses.

Rare drron29 Posted October 19, 2023 Author #141 Share Posted October 19, 2023 A really beautiful and peaceful place. Good views to Osaka. A cemetery beside the property. How did they get the little dolls in these places?
Rare drron29 Posted October 19, 2023 Author #142 Share Posted October 19, 2023 I am on the path down. Very few steps on the way down so that wheelchairs can get to the top. The path. many bends. Lots of persimmons around. a water race. And in the bottom lake lots f Koi. This lot think they are going to get fed.
Rare drron29 Posted October 19, 2023 Author #143 Share Posted October 19, 2023 This lot also thought they were going to get fed. And you always have to visit the shop. Wasabi anyone. Or noodles. Nice flowers. There is a public bus service but infrequent.
Rare drron29 Posted October 19, 2023 Author #144 Share Posted October 19, 2023 A few views on the way back. Traffic was very congested so late back. Basically time to get ready for dinner. Atlantide again. Just pages with the changes. The wines. Rojaan had the scallops and her favourite the lamb chops. I started with the Baltic cut of salmon and then the tomato soup. I was going to have the filet of beef but the waiter said you can have that any night but the Chateaubriand might not be back for a while so I changed. I did say it should be Bleu. Close. Then Rojaan had the pavlova and I asked for the cheese plate. It was not on the menu and found out that was not a mistake. You can ask for it but they will give you whatever they have in the kitchen.

It's a long way from the cheese trolley that used to live in La Terrezza. But those were the days of yore. The rest of the meal looks very good.
Rare drron29 Posted October 20, 2023 Author #146 Share Posted October 20, 2023 The Muse overnighted in Osaka. On the second day the plan was to have a ride on this. But being an easy day that was put off until after lunch. A late breakfast at the Arts Cafe. Then lunch at the pool deck. Basically the same menu though I don't remember the Rotisserie option. An unusual sight at the pool deck. Rojaan had the caesar salad with chicken and I had the fishburger. both OK. A different red wine with Rojaan having a Sav Blanc that she has had before.

And in La Terraza no gorgonzola and no one knows if it will be loaded in the next 5 weeks.
Rare drron29 Posted October 20, 2023 Author #148 Share Posted October 20, 2023 So on the Big wheel you do get some good views. School children on their way to the Aquarium.
Rare drron29 Posted October 20, 2023 Author #149 Share Posted October 20, 2023 The ride continues. And you even get a look at the resident's washing. The aquarium. And the divine Rojaan.
Rare drron29 Posted October 20, 2023 Author #150 Share Posted October 20, 2023 Rojaan then went back to the ship and I went off to the Aquarium. Although their website says there is a discount for seniors none was available at the ticket office, but first more Japanese fun with English and the Muse from the Aquarium. The aquarium. It is quite good but crowded even though I went in at 1445 and the school groups jad left. So here is a sample of what you see.
