Late arrival to St Thomas

We will be on Wonder of the Seas for the March 17th - 2024 sailing. We stop at St Thomas but don't get there until 12:30pm.

 

We are thinking about taking the water taxi to Water Island but that late arrival worries me a little. There will be 4 ships in port that day.

  Has anyone done this with a late arrival like ours? I've seen posts where people have commented on how busy the Ferry gets, especially with that many ships in at once.

   

  I don't want to end up on youtube as a dock runner. 🙂

How late does your ship stay there in the evening?

The last ferry back to Crown Bay leaves at 6:15PM, so with an 8:00PM departure, there's no need to worry.

They won't send more people to Water Island than they can get  back.  I suspect it's not as popular for those not docked at Crown Bay (which will probably ONLY be Wonder).

Appreciate the responses. The ship leaves at 8pm and we will probably only spend 3 or so hours if we go. I just wanted to know if there were any pitfalls that I wasn't aware of.

There have been times when there were more people wanting to go and the ferry capacity was exceeded so some people had to wait for the ferry to return for another unscheduled pickup.

We also have a late arrival at 12:30 and want to go to Magen's Bay but I'm wondering with 4 ships in port, will it be so crowded we won't be able to enjoy it?
