What type of guaranty reservation do you have?  Is it category specific (like 9B GTY) or a restricted (like VGT or OGT)?

Room assignments on guaranty bookings differ depending on what type of guaranty booking you have. GTY (as in as specific category guarantee - 4B, 9C, whatever) tend to be assigned about 45-60 days out. Last minute restricted guarantees (IGT, OGT, VGT) tend to be about 10-14 days out.  Generally they happen on a Tuesday, but not always.

 

**That being said, any guarantee can be assigned at anytime from the day the reservation is originally made up to, and including, embarkation day.**

We are on the Halloween Disney Dream Oct. 17th...booked a Verandah GTY and received our room assignment on Oct. 6th so 10 days before sailing.  Great cabin/location assigned so no complaints here.

We've booked a GTY at about three months that got assigned just a couple of weeks later. I booked a VGT a month out, which was assigned within the week before the cruise. I just booked another VGT for the end of January, so I figure that we probably won't hear until the last week before. We always used to pick our room, but we're finding this kind of fun, and it gives us a chance to try out other locations that I might be hesitant to pick on my own, but for $500 less, I'm okay with whatever we get.
