Here's info we received from Renaissance Hotel & Casino:

"We do offer beach passes. The price for non-residents is US$ 40 p.p. which includes access to the beach between 10am-6pm, and a food and beverage credit of US$ 20 to be used at the Infinity Beach Club. As space is limited we require to make reservations. For reservations please email dbacuna@curacaorenaissance.com. Not sure when in December you will be on island but during from December 15 -January 7, we do not sell beach passes."

Resorts for a Day is another avenue for booking hotels/resorts for a day.  We are looking at Courtyard by Marriott Curacao through Resorts for a Day.  It offers a $50 food & beverage credit and is $90 pp.

We recently stayed at Corendon Mangrove Beach when we did a land trip to Curacao.  It is also very close to cruise port and you could see ship from their beach.  It is a Hilton product and they do day passes (not sure of the cost).  There was a cruise ship in port on our last day and there were people on a day pass.  It is a newer hotel, I'm not sure when it opened but I believe it was opened during or right after covid

I am considering a day pass to this resort on my Carnival cruise next April.   From the pictures, it looks lovely, but I am concerned about availability of seating in the shade.   I don't care if I am around the pool or on the beach, and I am willing to pay for use of an umbrella if that's necessary.  But I can't sit in the sun all day.   Am likely to find a place to sit in the shade somewhere on the grounds?  Thank you.

There were some palapas and they were 20.00 a day for hotel guests or if you are a hilton gold or higher we got 2 free days of palapa. I don't know if day guests could rent palapas or what is included in the day pass.  There were usually some palapas empty. There are some cabanas to rent not sure of the cost.  Also some shade from trees.  Shade at the lobby bar, this is open air.  The day that the ship was there. a group from Carnival was there and they had a room, not sure if that is part of the day pass.

Thanks for the quick reply.  I'm considering the Carnival excursion, rather than buying a day pass from the hotel.   Transportation, drinks, snacks, and lunch are included, as well as beach or pool chairs.   But no mention of a room or a palapa.   The resort looks so lovely that I want to try it.   I hope to find some shade under a tree or rent a palapa if one is available.  I am sure a cabana is more than I would want to pay.   If all else fails, I'll be prepared with a big hat and a good coverup and can always go to that bar you mentioned!
