debnrick Posted October 18, 2023 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2023 Going on our first ever back-to-back cruise next year so I have a few questions for those lucky enough to have done this before. 1) We have the same cabin for both cruises .. I assume we can leave our luggage in the cabin? 2) Do we disembark on the first cruise (minus luggage) then embark as usual again for the second? 3) Will we be able to assist our elderly parents off the ship with their luggage after the first cruise? 4) Assume new sign/sail cards? 5) Would we have to wait until 1:30 to re-enter our cabin? 6) Anything else BTB first-timer should know? thank you

Gin-soaked bar-room queen Posted October 18, 2023 #3 Share Posted October 18, 2023 1) Yes. You can leave everything in your room. No need to pack up anything. 2) On my b2b’s, we were instructed where to meet (often MDR) and at what time on last day/first day of cruise. Customs officials came onboard and took care of everything. We never had to leave the ship. 3) Although we didn’t use it, we were given some sort of pass that would allow us off the ship and back on ( without going through the usual boarding process). 4) New s/s cards were handed out when we gathered in the MDR. 5) I’m not sure, but I think you may be able to go back to your room since you’ll be in the same room. If you were changing rooms, you would need to wait until the room was turned over. 6) Enjoy!
Rare Essiesmom Posted October 19, 2023 #4 Share Posted October 19, 2023 Tell your cabin steward you are B2B and not to rush to make up your room that day. Ask at guest relations if you can get your new cards early so you can help your parents off. Then you can reboard with your transit pass, bypassing checkin but still having to go through security. sc4125 Posted October 19, 2023 #5 Share Posted October 19, 2023 I've done a couple of B2B and in both cases we had to meet at a certain time (you'll get a letter in your cabin telling you when and where) and we were then escorted off the ship and taken to customs and then right back on board and they handed out the new S&S cards. I had the cabin steward exchange towels with me the night before and told him not to worry about cleaning my room at all on embarkation day so that I could go back to my cabin right away. I love back to backs - have another one booked for March.
