aaliggio Posted October 19, 2023 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2023 Well - this seems quite concerning. Will our ship be able to navigate the river? Read Associated Press article here: https://apnews.com/article/amazon-brazil-negro-river-drought-manaus-88421d0cbadca79007b4485cbf497c11 Has anyone received any details regarding this from Oceania?
orchestrapal Posted October 20, 2023 #2 Share Posted October 20, 2023 Looks ominous for our November-December cruise but we have yet to hear a word. Chances are the will just add some more Caribbean Islands to replace what would have been interesting and new to us.😥
Rare Traveling Fools Posted October 20, 2023 #3 Share Posted October 20, 2023 Rainy season doesn't begin until mid-December. We are booked for a March Amazon cruise. I hope the river recovers by then!

Plenty to see. I agree that this is a big "unknown". (My DW suggests that the ship divert to Rio for pre-carnival activities...) We are embroiled in issues regarding Oceania Air options, etc. Things certainly do get complicated quickly.
