Special Occasions?

I booked a cruise with MSC but forgot to mention that it will be our honeymoon / 5-year wedding anniversary (yes, thanks to covid this is possible.....we never got a honeymoon).

 

Anyway, do they do anything if you ask? I know on Holland they gave us a little cake and did some stuff in our cabin when we went and said it was a speical occasion.

 

Just trying to see if it is worth calling back in specially for this. I may have to call back and do final payment as I cannot get into my online account as it never sends me the code to my email. Been about 5 hours so far.

On MSC I honestly don’t know. 
For comparison, my husband and I went on a Carnival cruise and flagged with them it was our 10th anniversary. They did nothing and they have a spot specifically where you can flag special events. 
We actually sailed on our honeymoon with them and 10th anniversary.

We were on Divina for our 10th Anniversary, we hadn't informed anyone but when the Butler saw our cards in the cabin, he did add decorations to it.

The people I’d talk to onboard are the cabin steward and dining staff (maitre d and waiter).

You can pre-book various experiences to celebrate your anniversary.  Unless the experience says it is served on embarkation, when you board go to reception to tell them which day you prefer (and in the case of the anniversary cake where). 

 

In your position I would book these 2:

- Rose petal package in your cabin on embarkation for €45 - one bottle of Moscato, 2 souvenir glasses and petit-fours.

- anniversary package served in a restaurant for the day of your anniversary for €39 - one bottle of Asti and an anniversary cake.

 

If you do not book anything and just say something onboard you might get anything from a congratulations to something special, but nothing is guaranteed (and in my opinion the highest probability is you just get a congratulations).

I got a discount after final payment as on board credit. I had to send my wedding invitation to their email.  You can’t get anything if you don’t ask for it 🤩 good luck!

If you are in yacht club, mention to your butler. If not, perhaps buy in the special experiences.

Can we order decorations for the room like on Royal so the room will already be decorated when we arrive? Thanks
