Guarantee timing?

We have a guarantee booked for November 22 and are still awaiting an assignment. Cruise has been listed as sold out for a few days now. I was just wondering for those of you who have had a guarantee, when did you receive your assignment? It has been a long time since we’ve booked this way on HAL.

Ours was 2 or 3 days before sailing.

It can be anytime... and it can even change before sailing, so if you get an assignment "early" (anytime before day of sailing) don't consider it permanent! But the usual timing is about a week to 10 days before sailing, I think.

Ours was around 3 days out

Discussed here frequently. Can be from 30 days out, to dockside. Average recently seems to be around 8 days. Our recent cruise it was 12 days.

Day before  .... for a  7th OCT cruise...any layer and I would have shown up with the luggage and assigned when we got on.  Not a pleasant feeling atually.

The benefit of a guarantee is the lower price and the chance to upgrade. The tradeoff is the wait.
