Reports coming in are not good.There is another thread running on the P&O board as well.I also note ABC news are reporting a second cyclone forming off Vanuatu that they are keeping an eye on.

We are currently in Port Douglas on the land tour portion of our Australia-New Zealand tour. There hasn't been much damage in our area (a little north of Cairns), but it sounds like things were pretty bad to the south of us.

 

Of course, all of the Great Barrier Reef tours were canceled, but other than that there wasn't much impact here. We just hope the road from Port Douglas to Cairns is open tomorrow morning so we can make our flight to Sydney and embarkation on the Diamond Princess.

What a miserable time you must be having. I hear that most of the damage was near Townsville. Hope you get to Sydney.

Cairns Airport has been closed all day up until I left the office at 2pm. Hopefully some flights should start moving again late this afternoon and into the evening.
