Ivanhoe road Posted November 5, 2023 #1 Share Posted November 5, 2023 Due to fly/cruise to Barbados 18th November. Broke my wrist last night, not spoken to PandO yet, anybody any experience of this and would I still be able to travel?
sandancer Posted November 5, 2023 #2 Share Posted November 5, 2023 It depends if you are in plaster I think. If it can be stabilised without a cast you may be ok. I think P&O may want a doctors letter confirming that you are fit to fly.
Rare david63 Posted November 5, 2023 #3 Share Posted November 5, 2023 It will be down to what the current airline rules are - you will need to ask them. Doubt that it will be an issue onboard the ship other than the limitations it will put on you.
Thejuggler Posted November 5, 2023 #4 Share Posted November 5, 2023 All down to what repair is needed, is an op required to pin it? My daughter has travelled and cruised with broken hand and cast.
david05 Posted November 5, 2023 #5 Share Posted November 5, 2023 You also need to check with your insurers, if you have not already done so. When my wife broke her wrist shortly before a holiday the insurers wanted confirmation from a doctor that she was OK to fly and they said the insurance would no longer cover her for anything that happened involving her broken wrist. (We did go and everything was fine.)
Harryjacobs Posted November 5, 2023 #6 Share Posted November 5, 2023 When my hand was in a cast and a sling, I and our party was ushered past the que for stansted security and taken down the fast track lane. It was also repeated at Budapest airport which was rather nice.
