It depends greatly on traffic (taxis fares are metered and the meter runs even while stopped in traffic or if the taxi is moving very slowly) and demand (Uber employs surge pricing and when demand increases Uber fare increases) but either would likely be in the $20 to $30 range including tip.

There are also multiple ride-share app companies in NYC. You have Uber, Lyft and Revel you an also use an app to call/reserve a yellow taxi and by a yellow taxi rate per mile or a charge per minute below a small speed. I always open the apps and compare ride share prices.
