MDR reservations

Can they be made before boarding or only once onboard? Can you make them for your entire cruise or only one night at a time.

If you have AnyTime Dining, you cannot make MDR reservations until you are onboard. I have been able to make them for the entire cruise on Embarkation Day, but others have been able to make reservations for only three days in advance. It seems to vary by ship.

 

Also, I have been told that MDR reservations will be taken for only 50% capacity.

If you are inclined to dine more at the late end of the dining operation, reservations are less important.  We usually eat about 7:45 or so and typically were seated right away, even when we asked for a table for 2.

In June on Zaandam, we were a party of 6 that included 2 babies.

We were able to make a reservation for the entire cruise 

Gave us a beautiful table by the window every night.

 

2 year old grandson was able to play on the windowsill.

 

Everyone was happy 😁

I was able to make MDR reservation on the website but had no time-option. Any trick to that I didn't see? I like to eat early to not go to bed with a full stomach 😂
