Can husband and wife use the same players club card?

My only concern here is:  Just off an RCI cruise, where there is a lot of discussion surrounding this.  There are of course stories of people being denied jackpots because they (the person pressing the button) weren't the name printed on the card.  The point was raised though, you can play without using a card at all, so how could you be denied.  The answer is - the policy states that misuse or abuse of the card voids winnings.  In this case, if you are using someone else's card to accumulate points, that could probably be considered misuse.

My partner and I played a lot together, on one card, and we were both seated together the whole time, so I felt confident that we weren't misusing the card, and if we won a jackpot, we would receive it.  I would feel less confident if we were not seated together.

Again, this is RCI policy, I haven't taken the time to read the Carnival TOS specific to this, but I'd assume it is similar.  I don't have any personal experience either way, and most of the accounts and stories are hearsay.  But I, myself, probably won't risk it if there were even the slightest chance.  I want that money!

Granted the offers are starting to dry up now. But people were and are getting free cruises in the casino even without playing in the casino for years. Getting free cruises without ever cruising Carnival in the past, by playing at their local Indian casino. Etc. etc.

The Ocean Players Club can extend comps to anyone they want - they have no published schedule of comps.

My advice to everyone is to play for entertainment, because the comps are not guaranteed.

Yeah a lot of it was at the restart trying to bait the fish to come out.

Your 3rd piece is the key, I've seen people come on here and complain about the money they lost chasing offers. Crazy.

I've seen those posts too and that is why I always make sure to point out that playing trying to get comps is foolish. You're playing against a secret rule book.

RCL is hit or miss when it comes to handpays and whos card is in the machine. We have always been paid no mater whos card is in the machine. Sometimes they pay the card owner, sometimes who hits the button but in the end you get paid. We file taxes jointly so that does not make a difference to us.

You are missing the point of the casino - to take your money and put it in their pocket. Any time a guest does something to make that one-way street go the other direction, there has to be something wrong.

And this is based on what?

Pretty sure if I didn't play in the casino, I wouldn't get the offers I do.

Sure, you have to play but once you hit one point, that checks off that box.  What slips people's minds is that the difference between 1 point and 50,000 points is the sail and sign charges.  From the Ocean Player's website..

That is the beauty of not publishing exact comp requirements.  People chase them and think "I'll just spend another $20, $100..."  whereas if the level was 3000 points for a steak dinner for two, there is no reason to go to 3001.  But I have Carnival stock, so I do like comp chasers

I am no comp chaser by any means, we play for fun but if I can better my odds of getting a comp cruise for playing then why would I not? I am taking what we are going to spend in the casino and that is it, does not matter if we have 5000 or 50k points in the end, once the funds are spent we are done.
