sbaker Posted November 27, 2023 #1 Share Posted November 27, 2023 One of our stops next June is in Zeebrugge, Belgium. We're scheduled to arrive at the Zeebrugge Cruise Terminal at 8:00 a.m. I've schedule a tour that leaves from the city center in Bruges at 10:00 a.m. What is the best way to get from the cruise terminal in Zeebrugge to Bruges (and then later back to the cruise terminal)? nho9504 Posted November 28, 2023 #3 Share Posted November 28, 2023 Before Covid we passed Zeebrugge at least 3 times. On EACH Time, there was local tour company set up booths on the main road that you walk from the pier to get to - selling round trip coach tickets to Bruges for about 20 euro per person. Very frequent coach services on both ends. There are plenty of people looking for sharing a taxi on the ship when it was a day or two arriving Zeebrugge.
gjr Posted December 2, 2023 #4 Share Posted December 2, 2023 Do the companies also have round-trips to Ghent? We have done Bruges previously and looking to get to Ghent this time.
Rare Harters Posted December 3, 2023 #5 Share Posted December 3, 2023 Lots of discussion on this lengthy thread from early November https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2946003-zeebrugge-to-bruges-diy/
LeeW Posted December 18, 2023 #6 Share Posted December 18, 2023 (edited) Cruise Express works well. Take pier bus to terminal and look left. They are on the far corner of the street. Note that even if you buy online you still need to stand in line to get your return ticket and then they escort everyone onto the next street where the bus loads. Bus parking area is around 15 minute walk from the downtown area through a park. Return bus was on the half hour when we went in August. Note that most restrooms in town are inside sitdown restaurants. There is a public facility next to the bus park area. The bus that meets the ship goes to the railroad station and you would then still need to take the train to Bruges. Every third store there seems to be either waffles or chocolate! Your best hope is to ask this on your sailing's roll call: Celebrity Apex - August 23, 2024 Rotterdam, Holland & Brussels, Belgium - Celebrity Apex Roll Calls - Cruise Critic Community You can also book Cruise Express: Bruges :: Cruise Express (cruise-express.be) I have read that taxis do line up outside the port and that 8 random cruisers can join forces for the r/t to Bruges and back: Taxi zeebrugge, taxi brugge, taxi to bruges, havenvervoer (martinstaxi.be) Not sure they are reservable ahead of time!
