Valiant Lady: Is there a shady spot to lounge outside?

We're cruising on Valiant Lady in April and cannot wait!  Our preference is to be outside on sea days but we need shade and comfortable seating.  Can anyone recommend a good spot?  We don't really want to sit at a bar and we don't need to be close to the pool...just looking for outside shade with lounge chairs for two people.  We have a balcony room and plan to use the balcony but not all day on sea days.  I have watched a lot of videos about the Virgin Voyages ships but haven't seen much shade on the decks.  Any help is appreciated!!

Deck 7 on whichever side of the ship is shadiest is the best bet. Another possible option could be deck 16, there are some couch type loungers that have built in shade covers, but they are fixed in place so will provide shade only depending on the time of day and direction of the ship. They are facing several directions and are more comfortable than they look. 🙂

As others have mentioned, Deck 7 on either side of the Roundabout is a lovely spot to hang out during the day, the ship itself will provide shade to one side.

Up next to the pool there are triangular padded seats that have full shade, though they are not the most comfortable thing to sit on.

You could also rent the overpriced cabanas on the side of the ship which will give you shade for the most part until the sun comes in that side of the ship.

Is there a good forward area to watch sailaway away from the crowds?

No, the only forward area is Richards rooftop which is for suite guests only. But there is a decent amount of space across deck 16 to see the sights.
