  1. I booked our October Gem cruise at the end of June using a travel agent. Just got home, checked my account and noticed we both got double points. Guess who's Platinum now?!?! I'm certainly not complaining, but I don't understand. Does this happen very often?
  2. The last time I drank an iced beverage without a straw, I was in high school. My upper lip and the skin above it became extremely chapped and red. I’m not sure how many of you remember high school, but it was no fun for a teenage girl. I will rob a McDonald’s with a gun before I give up my straws. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to curl up in the fetal position and stroke my hair until these high school memories fade. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

    Coke products

Last year, in NOLA, I had no problem at all buying and carrying on my Cokes and Dr. Peppers. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

    Plug-In night lights

We can’t be the only people who use their cell phones as lights in the middle of the night. Works on cruise ships just as well as at home. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

    Least favorite food on NCL???

The sandwiches on the buffet always look so appealing to me. Then, I take a bite and realize it has mayo (aka the most disgusting substance known to mankind) on it. It fools me every time! Sent from my iPhone using Forums

    Change in Specialty Dining Package?

Thanks for all that! I’m sure it’s just an omission in the email. I just wanted to double check with the experts. NCL has a history of changing the rules willy-nilly! Besides, three meals at either of those restaurants wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. [emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Forums

    Change in Specialty Dining Package?

Here’s a copy and paste: Have the first two guests eat at NCL's two award winning specialty restaurants, Cagney's and Le Bistro, up to several times during your cruise! Does not include the cost of beverages, gratuities or services charges. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

    Change in Specialty Dining Package?

Thanks for the quick replies. I’ve had the SDP in the past, but never seen the wording like this. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  10. Apologies if this has been asked before, but I haven’t been on the boards a lot lately. I recently booked a cruise on the Gem for this October using an online TA. For our perks, I chose the SDP. Looking over the “fine print”, the T&Cs say the package is good only in Cagney’s and LeBistro. Is this correct? Sent from my iPhone using Forums

The Last Straw on NCL? Awesome!

I’ll confess, I didn’t read this whole thread. But, I thought I’d let you who care know that Hilton has recently announced a similar ban. Right now, it will only affect corporate-owned properties, but they have asked franchisees to follow suit. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

    Killing Time at EWR

I'm finalizing my flight details for our October European cruise. This is the first time I've booked two separate flights. We're departing EWR at 7:25pm. The flight I'm looking at now will put us in Newark at 8:00am. I understand United has luggage storage service (for a fee). Even if we're back at the airport 2 full hours before our flight, and assuming we have to wait a while for our luggage, that gives us about 8 hours to kill. Any suggestions as to what we can do? TIA

  14. So, I returned from my western Caribbean cruise a few weeks ago, and my co-worker, Bill, just came back to work this morning after his eastern itinerary. We were comparing notes when a third co-worker, Karen, joined the conversation. Bill asked me what ports we visited. I responded, "Two stops in Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, Belize, and.....Oh! Grand Cayman" Karen gave me a funny look. "Did you say you went to the Grand Canyon?" I laughed and told her no, that would have been tricky. "Yeah, I didn't think you went to Canada."
