Availability of cabs at Miami port

We are a party of 5 (3 adults and 2 children). We plan to self disembark from Freedom of the Seas as soon as we can leave the ship.

Our 1pm flight to Canada was changed by the airline to 11:45 am. Will it be easy to get a cab that will accommodate all of us to take us to the Miami airport? I have not used Uber or Lyft before.

Any recommendations/advice/tips would be greatly appreciated.

Taxis are plentiful at PortMiami. You will need your ship to be docked promptly and it will be most helpful if you self-disembark.

In most circumstances, one needs to arrive at the airport no less than 3 hours before the flight is scheduled to depart. MIA is a large airport and it can take some time once on airport property to get to your airline's terminal.

Safe travels!

If you are AC  the  check in is fairly quick  & if security  is open next to the AC  desk  it will quick

I would try to get off by 8:30 at the latest

if  flying AA  all bets are off  😉

I recommend a taxi because they will be lined-up waiting when you get off the ship; rideshares have to be assigned to a driver and won't just be there waiting. There should be a "starter" there who can call up a van for you if none are already there in the queue. If you plan to pay with a credit/debit card, verify with the taxi driver that his machine is working before you get in. Some drivers like to play games that their machine is not working, hoping you'll then pay cash.

11:45am is plenty late enough for you to make it to the airport and gate on time. The security line that goes to the AA gates will be long if that's your airline. Try to check-in for your flight while on the ship at T-24, even if you can't print your boarding passes.
