Istanbul hotel suggestions?

Without a doubt the best area to stay is in the old-town area of Sultanahmet - Sultanahmet Camii (the Blue Mosque), Hippodrome, Hagia Sofia (various spellings), Yerebatan Sarnici  (Roman cistern), hotels, shops, restaurants, etc. Short walk to the Grand Bazaar or to Topkapi Palace or to the Golden Horn waterfront at Eminonu.

Here's a useful thread on hotels https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2783789-istanbul-hotels/#comment-66488075

Ships berth at Galataport - a new cruise port on the other side of the Golden Horn. Easy tram journey from Sultanahmet - but not with luggage 😮

Ask your hotel to fix a taxi.

Istanbul is discussed on the board for Europe - other Mediterranean ports.

You'll find plenty of Istanbul info on that board - and it's worth repeating your question there

Super-interesting city, friendly folk.

JB 🙂
