Istanbul hotel suggestions?

Looking to book hotel for June 19, 2024 Oceania sailing -- convenient to cruise port, major sites, transportation. Thanks.

Without a doubt the best area to stay is in the old-town area of Sultanahmet - Sultanahmet Camii (the Blue Mosque), Hippodrome, Hagia Sofia (various spellings), Yerebatan Sarnici  (Roman cistern), hotels, shops, restaurants, etc. Short walk to the Grand Bazaar or to Topkapi Palace or to the Golden Horn waterfront at Eminonu.

Ships berth at Galataport - a new cruise port on the other side of the Golden Horn. Easy tram journey from Sultanahmet - but not with luggage 😮

Ask your hotel to fix a taxi.

Sultanahmet Cesme Hotel

We stayed at this hotel and found it great. Handy to all the places mentioned above as well as being wonderful to eat in the restaurants frequented by the locals.
