Here is my thought.

Sence the Holiday Inn port of Miami is sold out for 2-17-07, I started planning this: Please give input on hotel good or bad will help.

We will fly into FLL rent a car for $45 dollars, from Dollar renta or Thrifty for $55. I got a rate of $71 for the Best western Hallande for the one night. Drop car off at rental place have them shuttle us to the port of Miami. Looking for input on hotel or do I need to start over planning again.

Trying to keep reasonable family of 4. (still trying to find air during Feb vacation yek..)

Renting the car is a good idea. I am not so sure about the Best Western. I avoid BW like the plague. Before you commit to the hotel, get some reviews on it and keep looking around. You have a car so you can stay anywhere. :)

We stayed (a few weeks ago) at the Courtyard by Marriott, Downtown Miami.

It is a very nice hotel.

 

Marriott & Travelocity were selling the room for $189.00.

We got it on Priceline for $55.00.

It is a 2.5 star on Priceline.

 

The service was exceptional.

 

We took a taxi from the airport.

Then, another taxi (very short ride) from the hotel to the pier the next morning.

 

I can recommend this hotel without hesitation.
