erinm51 Posted January 3 #1 Share Posted January 3 I'm booked on a 14-day Mediterranean cruise on the Sun Princess in June, I didn't even realize when I booked the 14-day cruise that this cruise was also sold in 7-day portions. So, my question is, is this treated like a back-to-back cruise when we get to the port on the 7th day, or can we just go ashore at port like any other normal port day? Rare Rick&Jeannie Posted January 3 #2 Share Posted January 3 (edited) Anyone booked on a B2B cruise has almost always been able to disembark "between" the 2 cruises and just rejoin the ship along with the new cruisers. Most passengers elect to be processed in the special manner that a B2B cruiser would be handled. They are usually given a special "in transit" card (do I have the right term) and they are led off the ship as a group...then back on when re-boarding is allowed. They get a priority boarding experience when doing so...but if you were to go off on your own to see the sights you would forfeit this special procedure and just merge in with the "regular crowd". erinm51 Posted January 3 Author #3 Share Posted January 3 Thanks for the reply! I did not book it as a B2B, I booked as a 14-day cruise, I didn't even know there was 7-day segments I just thought it was a 14-day voyage. That day is in the port of Athens from 6a to 7p, so are you saying it will be like a B2B and I will not be able to trat that port day as a normal port day? It will be treated like a B2B and I will have to be in a group waiting to be escorted off and then back on or I will have to be back on the ship early like I was embarking for the first time? Rare Rick&Jeannie Posted January 3 #4 Share Posted January 3 No...you should be able to treat it just like any other port day. I was simply trying to explain the options that are available to you. Some people choose not to get off at certain ports.

OP is sailing in Europe where you can come and go as you please. Europe procedures are not like U.S. ports.
SCX22 Posted January 3 #6 Share Posted January 3 Your cruise is a back to back. Greece, however, doesn't impose immigration formalities on in transit cruisers such as the USA. If you choose to leave the ship, you can leave as soon as the gangway opens and return before all aboard time. If you choose to stay on the ship, you don't have to disembark at all and remain on the ship.
