Embarkation times for Apex

I'm wondering how Celebrity determines who gets early embarkation times and how closely they monitor the time you are designated.   Do you have to start Check in at the 45 day mark to get the earliest times?  And how closely do those at the port pay attention to your designated time? Does 1 pm really mean 1 pm?  Even for Suite guests?

Celebrity does not assign time; you choose your time when you check in.

Suites may board at any time, regardless of which time they choose when they check in.

all others are asked to come at their assigned time. They are trying to spread the crowd out and not have everybody show up at once. You may find that they are enforcing the times or you may find that the process is going smoothly and you’ll just be admitted

How and when does one get the assigned boarding time? Is it when you pay off your final payment (so earlier is better?) or when you fill out online check in?

It's when you check in online.  Which is available 45 days prior to your cruise.  Or anytime thereafter.  the earlier the better I guess, so don't wait.  Yes ,they give you a choice, but a limited one.  When I did it, the times were 1 pm or 1:30 or 2 pm

If you cannot get the check-in time you want, reserve the closest time.  Then go back and keep checking if any new check-in times are showing up.   The available check-in times are often different on the Celebrity app vs your account on their website.  As an example, for our cruise next month on the Apex, the app shows 1-1:30, 1:30-2 and 2-2:30 as available check-in times.

On their website it shows 12-12:30,1:30-2 and 2-2:30 as available check-in times.

Once you've chosen your check-in time, you can always go back and change it if a better time becomes available.
