HighSeaslover Posted June 10, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2004 Does anyone know if you can set up a sign & sail account with a daily limit for your teenagers? I have a 14 year old saving money for mowing lawns for our September cruise and he wanted to know if he could have his own sign & sail account to use on the ship. klfrodo Posted June 11, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 11, 2004 We did this for our son. Just went to the Pursers desk after boarding the ship. Made sure his tips went on our account, then put $100 down on his card and he was on his way. This way he could buy his own soda card and whatever else he wanted on the ship. Got some t-shirts for his friends and a watch for himself.
Rare finoky Posted June 11, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 11, 2004 Yes you can set a limit on the card. The pursers information desk will gladly set it up for you. HighSeaslover Posted June 11, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted June 11, 2004 Thank you so much. He thinks it would be really cool to have his own "credit card".. If only he would take my knoweldge that credit cards are not all what they are cracked up to be. serene56 Posted June 11, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 11, 2004 Let it be known that he can go over the amount that is posted. My kids had a certain amount and on the last day we found out one owed 35.00 and the other two owed 11. Its something that can be seen on the tv in his cabin. So be careful to watch the tv for his spendings. There really isnt much for a kid to spend onboard except the video arcade. ( a soda card?) and those 6 buck candy bars..lol Going NOWHERE Miracle, February 13, 2005 Legend, October 22,2004 Voyager August 31,2003 Victory September 22,2002 Regal Empress,June 2001 Sensation,August 2000

serene56 Posted June 12, 2004 #7 Share Posted June 12, 2004 On the Victory I saw a Cabury bar with the fruit and nuts... (the same that we get here for 99c) 6 bucks. yep that was correct. I never did see a regular candybar to see its price. PokrChick Posted June 12, 2004 #8 Share Posted June 12, 2004 I'm worried about the video arcade charges!! My son would be happy to spend his entire cruise there! I can't believe they let the charges go over the specified amount - what's the point of a limit then?! Now I'm concerned! serene56 Posted June 12, 2004 #9 Share Posted June 12, 2004 My kids very rarely played arcade games on the cruise. (for one they are not cheap so theydidnt want to be spending their money that way and because there is sooo much other stuff to do) How old is your son? You can always turn off his spending part of the card. (or dont tell him that he can spend the card in the arcade. PokrChick Posted June 12, 2004 #10 Share Posted June 12, 2004 My son is 12 and LOVES playing arcade games. He'll be on board, not only with us, but my parents too (not to mention a couple gullible aunts of his!) I suspect even if I turn off the spending part of his card, he'll find a way around it!! Hopefully, he'll find so many other things to do that he'll forget about the arcade (yeah, right!) He's generally a pretty good kid though and I'm hopeful he'll understand sticking to a reasonable amount of games for the trip.
