Mt Lassen Posted January 22 #1 Share Posted January 22 (edited) I recently saw this under the listing for different types of Cruise Cash any ideas? The description wasn't clear to me. I'm not sure why anyone wouldn't buy regular cruise cash since it can be used for anything. Edited January 22 by Mt Lassen
Drazil65 Posted January 22 #2 Share Posted January 22 (edited) This is what I saw for explanation...(if you plan on buying EFFY items) Effy Cruise Cash provides an immediate credit to a guest's Sail & Sign account. This credit is only good for any Effy charge made to their account Edited January 22 by Drazil65
klfrodo Posted January 22 #3 Share Posted January 22 Okay. I'll ask, what's a freakin EFFY?

80sGal Posted January 22 #6 Share Posted January 22 Effy is their premier jewelry brand. Most items run in the mid hundreds to thousands of dollars. For example, I stopped by their clearance promo on the last sea day at 60% off. A simple blue and white diamond pendant after the discount was still $650! No thanks! Some items are very elegant but I'd rather spend it on another cruise fare.
Drazil65 Posted January 22 #7 Share Posted January 22 Many retail stores also sell EFFY, mixed reviews through out the years on the quality. I agree, expensive for what it is and the reviews across the board.
1BDNANA Posted January 23 #8 Share Posted January 23 EFFY has some very beautiful designs. Right now, he is selling allot of nautical designs. Compass with lapis and diamond, manta rays, whale tails, star fish and items like that. I worked in the trade from wax to finished project, so I speak with some knowledge about jewelry. They are mass market but still hold their value somewhat well. 1
davy jones Posted January 24 #9 Share Posted January 24 On 1/22/2024 at 4:22 PM, klfrodo said: Okay. I'll ask, what's a freakin EFFY? It is grossly overpriced mass market jewelry sold on cruise ships with a lot of come ons and "deals". IMO, it is best avoided unless you have a huge amount of nonrefundable OBC that you have to get rid of.
Rare angelsfort Posted January 24 #10 Share Posted January 24 which brings us full circle back to the OP's original question on why you wouldn't just buy regular cruise cash since it can be used for anything? is there a perk of some kind for getting EFFY specific cruise cash? If the regular cruise cash can be used for anything (including EFFY) then what's the reason for getting EFFY specific?!
Bollycats Posted January 24 #11 Share Posted January 24 In my Cruise Manager it says you get $25 off onboard when you buy $100 Effy Cruise Cash.
