retird Posted January 27 #1 Share Posted January 27 On our last trip to Sydney in 2016, as we exited arrivals and walked toward the taxi rank, we walked to the right and there were shuttles there ( 10 to 12 passenger buses) where we registered with the attendant and told them our hotel name and then they directed us to the correct shuttle . We paid I believe 20 dollars each and they stopped at two or three hotels for dropoffs and then dropped us right at our hotel. Does anyone know if this service still exists? We are arriving there in April on a Monday morning.
Rare natefish95 Posted January 27 #2 Share Posted January 27 I'm not familiar with that service, but when I was in Sydney, I took the Sydney metro directly from the airport to the Circular Quay stop and then walked the two blocks to the Marriott Circular Quay. I just tapped my credit card going in and then again on the way out. Super easy and cheap if you don't have any mobility issues or a lot of luggage. SoBaycruiser Posted January 27 #3 Share Posted January 27 I heard taxis were about A$45-55 from the airport to downtown. We arrive on a Saturday morning. Should we expect less traffic going into downtown at that time?

They stopped at each hotel in circular quay that had passengers on that van. Sounds like they may not have survived covid?

I suggest you do some googling, there appear to be quite a few shuttle services. Perhaps one of them will suit your needs.

When you exited int’l arrivals instead of going straight to taxi rank, you turned right and they had a small booth at the curb with an attendant. You told them which hotel you were going to and when the right van was there they loaded you. Vans were continuously coming and going.
