Early Dinner and Late Show or Early Show and Late Dinner?

The Mrs. and I have a pretty varied eating schedule so it isn't uncommon to have early or late dinners, just depending on what we're doing that day. That said, we're being a bit indecisive as we think about making dinner reservations for our first VV sailing. Is there any noticeable difference/recommendation between eating early and seeing the second showing of a performance or seeing the first showing and then doing a late dinner?

Shows are generally 8 and 10 or 10:30....do a 6pm dinner can get you to either show.  An 8pm show could get you to a 9:15 dinner or a few minutes late for 9:00.   Or eat at 8 and go to late show,

For some shows the audience in the 10pm show can be better than the early 7 or 8pm, particularly the Miss Behave Show (on Valiant and Resilient Lady) which is more entertaining after a drink or two. But for many others like Duel Reality it doesn’t make any difference.
