World Cruise formal nights

Hi everyone,

 

The husband and I just booked a World Cruise for 101 days 2025 leaving Fort Lauderdale arriving back in the States at Los Angeles California. We booked our cruise on the Island Princess. We have sailed with Princess many times & are Elite status, so we're really looking forward to this cruise. 

 

I was wondering for those of you that have done world cruises… usually how many formal nights do they have? The husband and I like to dress nicely so we want to make sure we have the proper clothes. 

 

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

On the Coral Princess 107-day world cruise last year, there were 18 formal nights.  Most of the passengers dressed up for the evening.  There were many couples in tuxedos and evening/cocktail dresses.

On the 2015 R/T Sydney WC on Sea Princess, they had about a dozen formal nights.

So did you re-wear your formal outfits as the cruise went on?

Yes. You have to decide how much suitcase room do you want to fill with formal ware that you will only wear for a couple of hours a couple of days.

Affirmative, I had 1 suit and DW had a couple of outfits.

Got an email yesterday from Princess stating that they were changing their itinerary on this World Cruise. Looks like they're going to have the cruise go down around Africa and avoid the Middle East and Asia all together. With this in mind, Don and I have decided to cancel this cruise, but we hope all of you who decide to continue with it have a wonderful trip. Hopefully, in the near future when things get more settled in the world, we will be able to do a World Cruise for sure.
