cruise*enthusiast Posted February 5 #1 Share Posted February 5 Looking at 2 different itineraries. One does Glacier Bay and the other does Endicott Arm & Dawes Glacier. Is one better then the other?
Rare karatemom2 Posted February 5 #2 Share Posted February 5 I would always recommend selecting an itinerary that includes Glacier Bay, especially if you are a first time Alaska cruiser. Glacier Bay is a full day of scenic viewing with guaranteed glacier visibility. Endicott Arm is often too full of ice for the ships to get through and is frequently missed, or proceeded into very minimally with little or no chance of seeing the glacier.
Rare Coral Posted February 6 #3 Share Posted February 6 Glacier Bay, by far. No comparison.
Urban trekker Posted February 6 #4 Share Posted February 6 Agree with the others - Glacier Bay. Dennis
corgigrl Posted February 7 #5 Share Posted February 7 Definitely Glacier bay! Longer and closer viewing time, more glaciers, more wildlife and park rangers on board!
