Canada/NE Royal v NCL

Recommended Posts

Hello.  For background, my family of 2 adults and 3 kids have sailed a lot on Royal, always in 2br suites, and are well into Diamond Plus.  We are looking at a Canada/NE cruise out of NYC-area roundtrip and NCL 2 br in the Haven is pricing out at basically half of Royal 2br.  We did our first/sole NCL cruise last month in the Haven and found it to be really nice.  So I'm curious as we contemplate Royal or NCL what would justify the hefty premium to sail Royal?

If it matters we'd be leading a group of about 40 cabins.

Appreciate your thoughts.

a lot depends on the time of year and for how long. A lot of the ships out of NJ/NY may not go up to Prince Edward Island or even to Quebec city.   Sailing out of Boston is nice and you get more of NE but yes you have to fly unless you want to drive.

So I am surprised to hear the HAVEN is cheaper than Royal.  wow.

well do more research and pick whichever gives the best ports.  Make sure you get to Bar Harbor.

Thanks.  It appears that the Royal cruise is a little longer but with sea days not extra port days.

well if you have never been to NE unless you plan to one day drive up to Maine and the area, I would pick the most ports.  Also Celebrity goes to NE from Bayonne as well as NCL from Boston.  I think Princess goes out of Brooklyn too or at least they did. keep on looking.
