Lido opening depends on the weather... which will often depend on the cruise.

 

This was the situation last February in Norway... bit of a Brrrr and pretty slippery underfoot!

When on the way to sunnier climes it is usually open. It doesn't empty itself as well as the ones on the old ships did when the sea was rough, it tries to sometimes.

The description "sunnier climes" might be pushing it - it is the Flavours of the Mediterranean cruise (Portsmouth, Gibraltar, Barcelona, Toulon, Mahon, Palma, and Lisbon) in the first two weeks of March with a predicted 9°C / 16°C.  At those temperatures I would brave a heated pool or hot tub. 🥶
