Sky Sweet Posted March 23, 2006 #26 Share Posted March 23, 2006 The passengers and crew of the Millennium are in my thoughts and prayers at this time. What a sad situation.
dkjretired Posted March 23, 2006 #27 Share Posted March 23, 2006 Since there are many people on this cruise from the boards, can you make this thread a sticky and also combine the other four or so threads into one. Story is important to many.

wrp96 Posted March 23, 2006 #30 Share Posted March 23, 2006 CNN just reported 12 dead, 4 in serious condition, and that only 16 people were on the bus. They said the bus slid down a 280 foot steep mountain side.
Cruise or Lose! Posted March 23, 2006 #31 Share Posted March 23, 2006 I feel like such an idiot. I rushed here, thinking it was the ship that had been in an accident (I'm booked on the Millie in July) Words do not describe how terrifying this accident must have been. My hearts go out to those who were lost and to their loved ones.
Gypsea Posted March 23, 2006 Author #32 Share Posted March 23, 2006 Many of those twisty roads don't even have guardrails. Thinking of the relatives at home worrying about their cruisers and the relatives possibly onboard waiting for loved ones to return from the day trip. ECCruise Posted March 23, 2006 #33 Share Posted March 23, 2006 CalKev - makes one wonder how people can casually surf the Net when their fellow cruisers have just been in such a crash. My guess is that they are not surfing the net but rather emailing loved ones letting them know that they are OK.

mcnyc Posted March 23, 2006 #39 Share Posted March 23, 2006 My prayers and sympathies go out to the victims and their families, as well as to everyone on the Millie. It's great to know that at times like this, while there's nothing we can do for them except provide our thoughts, prayers and hope beyond hope at times, everyone here (online) pulls together like a family. Ammonium Posted March 23, 2006 #45 Share Posted March 23, 2006 I don't think I've seen the names released in the American media yet. If you know somebody on the ship and are concerned, the local newspaper has the names.

Host Walt Posted March 23, 2006 #49 Share Posted March 23, 2006 I heard back from Joe. He does not think that any Cruise Critic members were on that bus. Very sad anyway! That's good news for our Cruise Critic family. Please note that this is a unique situation for us with Cruise Critic. Please continue to respect the emotions and privacy of those Cruise Critic members who may have been affected by avoiding any and all unfounded speculation. It's fine to post links to legitimate news source URLs that provide updated information but please do NOT post any speculation such as, "I know that Host Walt talked about how he wanted to go on that excursion so he may be one of those killed." Thank you all for your great consideration, respect and dignity in your posts in this thread.
