Hi folks,

Are there duvets on the beds or sheets & blankets? If duvets are they feather or synthetic? Pillows.....feather or foam? All info gratefully appreciated. 🙂

Pillows are your choice of firm/squashy, feather or synthetic [not foam to my knowledge].

 

Bedding, again your choice of duvets [not sure of filling] or sheets and blankets.

The default is duvets. If you want blankets, ring up a couple of weeks beforehand to save the staff extra work on their busiest day.

Strangely, the default in Britannia is bedding rather than duvets. Grills get duvets by default.

Poor Grills. Worse still the duvets are rather warm.

I don't understand it either. But while embarkation is a busy time for the crew, nevertheless switching it over takes just a few minutes and they very much expect some passengers will want to do this, so I don't think it's a big deal.

Even better if they don’t have to do it, assuming the message gets through, which, strangely enough, it usually does in my experience. Also strangely, when I read an FAQ on the subject (which may have disappeared long ago), they said everyone had duvets.

I had no idea they were the default of [unlucky] guests in  'the Grills'.

Does it matter? You can always top up with a blanket if the duvets [which as has been said are rather warm] aren't warm enough.

1. Is not a warmth thing. Those thin duvets just feel cheap and nasty rather than a beautiful fluffy feather duvet. Would prefer not to have blankets but better than crappy duvet.

I'm not sure what synthetic filling the duvets have but I  guess you'll be on sheets and blankets then as the 'crappy' duvets are not of the fluffy feather variety.

They seemed pretty fluffy to me when I encountered them. Not necessarily feathers though, but certainly not thin. And rather too warm.

Definitely synthetic. Not heavy. Perfectly acceptable. Would not choose them for home for time onboard they are fine.
