Ovation of the seas Australia

Recommended Posts

This cruise is the worst ever. After over 250 nights with Royal we quit.

2 ports cancelled.  North Star broke. Life boat broke during tendering caused us to miss Auckland because of a 6+ hour paper work problem.  The lift for the boat was fixed but it took another 6 hours for the paperwork to clear

The food is horrible in both the dining room and windjammer.  Same ***** everyday in the windjammer. No deli meat unless you want salami or ham. Fruit is tasteless. A lot of pork no sight of beef or turkey. The only chicken is fingers that is deep fried and dripping in oil.   No real butter- an oil mix that is runny. Breakfast raw pancakes, cold eggs, bacon is cold and undercooked. No lobster for us   Mac and cheese lobster was an entree that was gross and we called out if someone actually got a piece of meat.  Even the salad bar is missing a lot of toppings.

the excursion to the Glo worm cave was done by a 14 yo boy and lacked any info.  One 6 hour tour bus had no air conditioning and people were getting ill.  Most of the towns closed at 5. So no point being there until 8.

The fish and chips is all deep fried with the coating 3 times the amount of fish or shrimp.

closed the casino for 28 sea hours because the captain decided to stay within 11 mile of shore on 2 consecutive sea days.  Even the casino staff didn’t know this was going to happen

cant wait to return to our land portion of this trip.  Really disappointed and hungry.  Our bucket list trip is not going well

more when we have internet

I'm in the same cruise and have had no real complaints regarding the food, there is a good choice of fish, beef, chicken, pork and vegan options. I agree there is no turkey but it's not Christmas.  The crew are friendly and helpful.  It was disappointing that we couldn't get off in Auckland but sometimes these things happen.

All in all I would come back on this ship happily and am looking at booking my next cruise already with Royal Caribbean
