A lot of newspapers and other sites want you to sign in. You can always set up an email account with some of the free locations such as hotmail or yahoo and just use that for places that make you sign in.

the article explains travel insurance for beginners. A lot of us reading cruise critic are "old pros" but there are a lot of people who are new to this site and to cruising so it offers a lot of basic info. it does mention insuremytrip.com and also mentions to read the fine print carefully to see if your unique situation would be covered.

Thank you for posting this.

Most of the article is just a sensible reminder to check the fine print of your policy to make sure it covers what you're after (mountaineering, pre-existing medical condition coverage, cancellation due to sickness of family members at home, medical evacuation, hurricanes, etc).

I did get one possibly very useful thing from the article though, the mention of two websites that help you shop various company's travel insurance policies -- I'll definitely check that out! The two websites were Quotetravelinsurance.com and Insuremytrip.com

I have been very happy with CSA travel insurance so far, but need to shop elsewhere because my next trip is longer than their maximum length of coverage.

The best advice is KNOW in writing what is covered and what is not. After reading the small print many times, I opt out. I figure on the lst 10 trips we have save a few thousand dollars.

Then again, we just went 3 years without health insurance when I found out the monthly was $800 per month. Than comes to some $25,000 saved as well. Risky, yes. Prudent? You decide.
