London (Dover) to London (Dover)

We are considering a London to London cruise on the Sojourn.

The port is actually Dover.

For those who have been on this type of cruise, is it difficult to go from London to Dover (with luggage at hand) ?

I take a private transfer from London to Dover

We are doing the same cruise.SB has a 2 night in London with transfers Dover.We decided it was easier to do that.

Unless you have multiple steamer trunks, it is easy by train.  Fast trains from St Pancras station go every hour and take just over an hour.  There are also other services from other London stations (Victoria / Charing Cross / London Bridge): these take longer but are a good option if your hotel happens to be near one of those stations.  The railway station in Dover is about a mile from the port, there will be taxis waiting at the station.

If you know exactly when you need to travel (and embarking onto a ship I guess you do) then there are cheap "advance" fares available.

We're arriving on the Thursday ( from Australia ) and taking "Blackberry cars" to transfer us directly to Maison Dieu guest House in Dover cost being 194BP....we're on the July 13th Sailing.
