So smoking HAS been banned in Spice on Getaway now?

when I was there there was no one smoking I couldn’t say it was banned there.

if. It’s a small area I would think it should be banned. Even with the enclosed area on pool deck the smell was awful so always walked on other side.

If there is a private room that is vented for smokers....how does that impact YOU??? Why is it so important for there to be "no smoking" at all??? Please tell, I'll wait!

I never mentioned any degree of importance, I simply said that it would happan and that I woudl be thankful for it, but as well all know fully well, there are always some people who bend or blatantly break the rules  I have people riding the elevator while smoking tobacco and/or electronic cigarettes (which are at LEAST as bad a tobacco cigarettes), then as they step off they sheepisly say "Sorry".  The smoke does drift out of thsoe ebclosed areas and directly impact those who are smart enough not to choose to commit suicide on the tiem delay plan.

It will happen at some point that crusie lines go non-smoking, if for no otehr reasn than the cost savings involved and the continual reduction in the number of people who foolishly do smoke.

I quit smoking a little over 5 years ago. I will still go hang out at the smokers table sometimes because I find them to be better company than some of the self-righteous anti smokers. The ones who wave their hand in the air pretending they're waving the smoke away although the wind is blowing away from them towards the smoker. Across a four lane highway.

As opposed to the blatant self-righteousness displayed in your own post?

I am not a smoker, but I'm always impressed with how strongly some people react to others being allowed to smoke in some outdoors areas on cruise ships.

Do you realize that you're on a floating power plant that burns fossil fuels, and the smoke stack is right above your head?  Ever notice all the soot on the aft of the ship?  It's not from cigarettes.

If health and air quality is a major concern, cruising is not a good choice.

So if you live near the land fill it is OK for me to ceme into you haouse and have my dog relieve himself on your carpet since you can already sell the trash composing?  How about if you live next to the airport, is it then OK for me to put my speakers in the window facing your house playing the music you hate the most blaring all full volume since you can already near the noise form the planes?

Whenever I post specific information about riding or what I ride, a Mod deletes it so I'll be vague.

I started riding over 20 years ago, started doing track-days less than a year later, graduated racing school and got my racing license 2 years after that, did a few races per season in the Mid-Atlantic region (amateur level) for a few years, then continued to street ride but stopped racing.

If you see a 1000cc sportbike rider in Central Florida (rare) who is wearing a helmet (very rare), proper riding gear (extremely rare), and with correct riding/body position (unicorn rare), it might be me. 👍

Stay safe out there and ride like everyoen else is aiming for you!  I also chose to always wear a lid even when not required.  As a result of nmerous health issues I can n longer ride and damn I missi it.  Going through life on two wheels makes you feel like you are part of the wprld you are riding through as opposed to being in a cage and having it all pass you by.

To the OP, Apologies fr the side bar.  I think we are done for now! 🙂

I just shake my head!! Smoking areas on any ship are very very limited! Outdoor area is perfect spot, Spice H2O is confined to a very small area on side of bar, please if one is sitting all the way on the other side outdoors and they are whinging about smoke imo they are being melodramatic, get over it!

As far as ships going totally non smoking I don’t see it happening anytime soon! Asians, Europeans and Israelis smoke, a lot, and many in that demographic are the big spenders, especially in casino on the ships!

If smoke bothers some steer clear of smoking areas, you have a whole big ship, smokers are confined.

All that said I do not condone smoking on balconies or prohibited areas of ship.

I'm not a smoker. I did grow up in a family of smokers - I'm legit the only person in my family (other than my husband) that doesn't smoke. So, perhaps I'm biased, but smoking areas need to be allowed. I agree with the melodramatic piece. Get over it, indeed!

There's plenty of cruise ship to explore. If you just can't tolerate the smell of smoke, the 40 square foot area at the aft of the ship won't kill you. I do question some of the forward smoking areas as that smoke will drift, but heck, it's not worse (and probably better) than inhaling the exhaust of the ship. Why don't more folks complain about that?
