If you are thinking Spain vs. Greek isles I'd pick Greek Isles. The Greek Isles are so iconic, plus if you do Italy and Greece you get a bit of East Med (Greece) and a bit of west Med (Italy). Both are historic (although in the Greek Isles people tend to go more ga-ga for the natural beauty, beaches, etc.)
