Thanks for the overview. Do you know what MSC is doing with the Bellissima? It seems set to remain in Japan, yet it has hardly any itineraries for 2025.

I have summed all cruises by regions (sometimes from a same port it can go several weeks to different destinations. I tried to join as much as possible)

For MSC, top destination is Mediterranean.

In 2025 they will have:

Eastern Mediterranean: 1 in Winter, 7 in Summer (2 more in summer)
Western Mediterranean: 4 in Winter, 6 in Summer (same as 2025)
Caribe (from all origins): 6 in Winter, 4 in Summer  (1 less in winter)

Cruises for Japan, from New York and South Africa remain in numbers

It seems Norway will lose 3 cruises (from 5 to 2 in summer), Brazil will lose 1 in winter (from 5 to 4) and Red Sea will lose 1 in winter

New destinations are:
- Eastern Caribe from Guadeloupe, 1 in winter
- Canary islands from Las Palmas, Santa Cruz and Funchal, 1 in winter

Let's remember destinations for 2025 in Splendida aren't still available (so some destinations will add cruises)

Thank you for this overview.

You mentioned Seascape twice. One should be Seashore, right?

4 in 2024 to 4 in 2025 right? In both years I see Euribia, Virtuosa, Poesia and Preziosa in your list.

I am a bit disappointed in their mediterranean itineraries. MSC seems to recycle them a bit to much for my taste. World Europa, Seaview, Seaside + one seem to be offering the same loop every year. Only they change ship. For example, last year Opera, this year Grandiosa, next year Seaside do the same loop Genua, Marseille, Barcelona, Tunis, Palermo and Napoli.

Also they seem to always offer Armonia, Lirica, Sinfonia and Opera on the Adriatic. Me wanting to change both itinerary AND ship every time I cruise, is left with limited choice.

According to the Port of Los Angeles website, the Bellissima will begin homeporting there in October 2025:

Thanks for flagging that, @JamieLogical. I'm looking at April-June 2025 specifically, so Bellissima might still be in Asia then.

@alserrod The latest information I could find was this: https://www.cruisecritic.co.uk/articles/which-cruise-ships-are-sailing-from-asia?stay=1&posfrom=1

So Splendida might be the replacement to Bellissima if it leaves Asia. However it has no published itineraries past October 2024, so impossible to know for sure.

They aren't the same loop at all!!!

These are Fantasia, Granciosa, Musica, Seaview and World Europa loops for July 2004

Considering all of them ports of call from Monday to Sunday for each one

Livorno - Civitavecchia - Genova - Marseille - Tarragona - Valencia - at sea

Marseille - Barcelona - at sea - Tunis - Palermo - Napoli - Livorno -

Civitavecchia - Genova - Cannes - Barcelona - Ibiza - At Sea - Cagliari

Genova - La Spezia - Civitavecchia - at sea - Palma - Barcelona - Cannes

Napoli - Messina - Valletta - at sea - Barcelona - Marseille - Genova

4 of them call in Barcelona, 4 of them call in Genova, 3 of them call in Marseille.

Just World Europa call in the three top3 ports in Western Europe...

All of them call three times in Italy but choosing smaller ports too to have more offer: Livorno, Palermo/Livorno, Cagliari, La Spezia, Messina...

I did not mean to say all 4 ships offer just one loop, I mean the four loops they sail are reused for a different ship every year.

Is it expected to move any other ship to Japan or they will finish operations in Asia?

As far as I know they plan to bring a ship back to China (Shanghai/Tianjin). And I am pretty surprised that it really works to send around the big Bellissima just for the Japan/Taiwan market. But they maybe will give up South Africa.

I see.... and there can be several options

- Adjust offer to demand (each ship has a capacity) according with expected passengers

- Offer new Grand Voyages with that rotation

- Test ships in different oceans (maybe maintenance, maybe best options in the kitchen, etc...)

One other interesting thing about the Bellissima and Splendida schedules is they might have gaps in the schedule when they are sailing exclusively in Chinese ports and selling exclusively in the Chinese market. If someone here had access to the Chinese WeChat, they'd probably see these itineraries spelled out on a travel agency page.

Anyone have any idea when December 2025 cruises will open? I see up through October for most ships. Most other lines are already available to book holiday cruises.

Is the Splendida already available to book? I only have seen the Bellissima.

Curious myself as I am ready to book December 2025 but MSC has no Caribbean sailings out of FL posted for that time yet. Most other cruise lines have had them out for a long time.

there's another reason to change ships from one year to other one.

People doing a second cruise prefer a new ship. Just to know something different.

All ships are different (there are some "twin ships" but mainly different). People will agree having a new cruise where half of ports of call have been already visited.

But in a new ship.

thus... rotation.

Per Facebook MSC groups, tomorrow

Definitely *some* itineraries will be available tomorrow, maybe not all the ships though. This article says it's just the Virtuosa tomorrow: https://www.cruisehive.com/msc-cruises-to-open-new-uk-sailings-earlier-than-planned/125885

But last year most of the ships had their itineraries published pretty close together, so even if tomorrow it's just the Virtuosa, probably within 2-3 weeks most of the itineraries will be out.

2026 itineraries for the Virtuosa are now live, but curiously, not the Winter 2025-2026 sailings. They've only released the spring-summer sailings.
