I will never, never in life would have imagined "white beans with chorizo soup" as Caribbean party but.... everythinkg is possible in cruises.

It is a traditional food coming from a rainy area in Spain besides Atlantic

something like this

Fabada asturiana, la receta fácil y tradicional

About Father's day.... yeah, yesterday it was celebrated in Italy, Spain and Portugal.

The pictures and info is great, but it makes for hard work to actually find anything.

Can I suggest putting the pictures into cloud storage and link to them with a description in forum posts.

Yours looks a lot better. Tiny, diced pieces of chorizo. It was a hearty soup and The Bird enjoyed the flavor.

It is a typical food from Gijon and surroundings. Despite it has a harbour I think there aren't cruises calling there.

Anyway, if you come to Spain you could ask for it in any restaurant (not in summer!!!) and it is a cheap starter (or an entree.... depending of quantity of chorizo and other products).

But... I will never believe to find it in a Tropical dinner because it is a fatty and power dish coming from the most rainy area in Spain, nothing to see with Caribe.

Happy to see it.... sometimes MSC should add an addenda about any dish history. All of them have their own one.

Please don't.

Part of CC enjoyment is the pictures with comments, or without.  Not a big fan of changing that to 'the cloud.'

Probably more technologically progressive, but we like it this way currently.

Take no offense.

I agree.

I will cruise in a couple of months. I started surfing on CC some months ago. Everytime I find something special or interesting, I download and file for me

The channel into Taino Bay is very narrow for big cruise ships with shallow reef to either side. There is no protection from the winds and seas. We backed down the channel today.

In 2022, the NCL Escape got blown out of the channel while departing Puerto Plata and ran aground causing a hull breach. Her 4300 passengers were eventually disembarked and flown 150 passengers at a time back to Miami.

What’s left of someone who did not successfully navigate the channel.

While mom and dad enjoy the Marina pool, the kiddos have great 3-story splash zone, Pirate’s Cove. The cove has water slides for the youngest cruisers and bigger slides for the older kids. Higher up, there are ropes bridges in the crow’s nest.  Arrggg.
