Booking for July out of Baltimore

So we were planning to book for the July 14th cruise out of Baltimore until the bridge collapse.

Does anyone have any insight as to what the plan is for future cruises?

Will they all move to Norfolk until the bridge mess is dealt with?

We don't want to book then the cruise be canceled altogether. Leaving from Norfolk or New York isn't a problem though.

Once the Baltimore harbor reopens they'll move operations back to Baltimore.

 

The cruise won't be cancelled no matter what happens. You'll either embark on the cruise from Baltimore or Norfolk.

Josh Weinstein, Carnival CEO gave an interview on CNBC. Said operations to transit to Norfolk temporarily. I'm sure this situation is fluid and this could and probably will change.

The bridge doesn't need to be built for cruise operations to resume.  There is a 1000+ people and heavy equipment heading to the site now.  Debris removal will pause temporarily at points to allow divers to check for bodies.  There is tremendous pressure to open that shipping channel ASAP.

I'm no expert but that main channel won't be still blocked by July. Too much $$$ at stake.

Saw a quote in the news from the Army Corp of Engineers saying the channel will be cleared in weeks, not months.  Certainly not a guarantee, but I would expect sailings out of Baltimore before June.
